Sony NEX-VG20 Reivew:
Given the price of other large-sensor, interchangeable-lens systems, the NEX-VG20 offers excellent value for anyone who prefers shooting video on a camcorder-style body rather than on a video-enabled SLR. Retailing at a touch under AU$3000 (and even cheaper when shopping online) the VG20 proves that excellent-quality filmmaking is accessible to those who can't quite reach the upper echelons of a RED or Canon C300, or even Sony's own FS100.

Just trying to get this NEX-VG20 footage to import & iMovie won't see the cam' at all. I have no idea what is going on & I can't find a work-around.
Step 1:Go to iMovie > File > Import > Camera Archive
Step 2: Click on the "Memory Card" icon from Devices (if you have connected your camera properly through USB Connect, then the icon would have shown)
Step 3: It should indicate "Camera Archive detected - click Import to proceed", then just click Import.
By now, you will see the Import window for your camera loaded with the videos that you've taken, checked, and ready for import...
Note: The camera has several settings. Choose 60i or 30P or 24P. Do not choose 60P. iMovie cannot handle 60P AVCHD files natively.
If you want to import NEX-VG20 1080,60p AVCHD to iMovie, you will need to convert the 60p to 30p using a third party app before importing to iMovie.
You can get this 60p AVCHD to iMovie Converter to do you a favor. With it, you can easily convert NEX-VG20 60p AVCHD to AIC .mov with 30p output for iMoive on Mac.
Step 1: Run the best 60p AVCHD to iMovie Converter and then click the adding button to import your 1080,60p MTS,M2TS files to it.

Step 4: Click the “Convert” button; it will convert NEX-VG20 60p AVCHD to AIC .mov for iMovie with 30p on Mac immediately. You can find the process in the “Conversion” interface.
After the 60p AVCHD to 30p MOV conversion, you are able to get the output files via clicking on “Import” button effortlessly. Now you can easily import and edit your NEX-VG20 1080,60p AVCHD in iMovie on Mac without any trouble with least quality loss.
